Women Who Empower 2023
Congrat’s to RevUp’s Melissa Withers for nabbing a 2023 Women Who Empower Award from Northeastern University
Congrats to RevUp's Managing Partner Melissa Withers for nabbing a 2023 Women Who Empower Award from Northeastern University. The award was created in 2019 to honor women whose work is dedicated to inspiring and empowering other women to reach their fullest potential. .
Melissa was honored for her work at RevUp, her dedication to directing more investment to women-led companies, and her efforts to mentor and advise female founders.
During her career as a professional investor, Melissa has dedicated much of her work (and free time!) to directing more entrepreneurial funding and support to women, people of color and those living outside major metro areas. Since 2018, 60+% of RevUp investments have been into companies with at least one female founder.
Northeastern recently published this short feature that underscores why Melissa was selected for this year's award.
Melissa wasn't the only one to receive this honor...she was among a group of awardees who are all extraordinary in their own ways. See the full list of winners and meet some of these amazing women here.
If you're interested in hearing a bit more about Melissa's take on why RevUp focuses on founders underserved by traditional Venture Capital, check out this cheeky video on exactly that topic.
More About RevUp Capital
RevUp Capital invests in B2B and B2C companies that are revenue-driven and ready to double down on growth. We deploy cash and capacity to help companies grow from $1-3M to $10-30M, quickly and efficiently, using a revenue-based model. Companies enter our portfolio with $500K-$3M in revenue, a strong growth rate, and a team that’s ready to scale. Our typical investment range is $300K-$500K.
We invest into a company's market-facing activity using a cash and capacity model. We pair our cash investment with dedicated support from the RevUp Growth Platform: a powerful resource to build a data-driven growth engine, delivered by people who get the work done. Rather than take equity, companies return investment through a small percentage of revenue over time. More at www.revupfund.com
